The biggest challenge any blogger faces is getting constant stream of traffic. Without decent traffic, blogging may not fetch you enough money to meet your monthly expenses. Most people try as hard as they can but are unable to grow their site traffic to a reasonable extent. A lot of them would consider themselves lucky if their blog traffic even reaches 100 figure mark per day.
Furthermore, the earliest days of a blog are probably the hardest. You don't have enough content to make any lasting impression on the visitor. And there are too few people visiting your blog that you begin to wonder whether it makes any sense to continue what you are doing. You may feel like quitting many times at the start of your blogging career.
However, the good news is that when you start blogging to make money, you don't have to do it full time. It is not wise to quit your job and take up blogging full time unless you have started making at least some decent amount of money through this. It might take a year or two before you reach this stage. Till that time, continue with your current job.
You just need to spare an hour or two everyday for blogging. If you can manage just 1 hour per day consistently for few months, you may start noticing some awesome results. Spend one hour every day brainstorming new and interesting topics related to your niche.
Then research and read up a lot of content related to those topics. Finally get down to write killer content on the topic of your choosing. You may not be able to finish the article within one hour, that is fine. Complete as much as you can and leave the remaining work for the next day.
In this manner, even if you can produce 2-3 killer articles per week, its a great start. In less than a year, you can have a good amount of content to attract readers. Remember, you are doing all this on part-time basis. As the content on your blog grows, it is likely that the traffic will start growing as well by leaps and bounds.
Of course, there are certain other aspects of blogging which you need to learn. There are things like SEO, social media marketing etc, which are important if you want to advance your blogging career. However, your primary focus should be on developing killer content on hot topics related to your niche.
If your content is top-class and you are properly monetizing your blog, then you might start earning handsome income in a short period of time. Very soon, you will be able to say goodbye to your boring job and jump full-time into further developing your blogging career.
All the best!
